Geography was one of my weakest subjects at school, and I was never able to really step up to the plate. Now GeoQuiz by Brain Cafe helps me improve my knowledge about everything related to our beloved planet.
GeoQuiz allows you to take tests on several topics: for example; Countries and Flags, the Big Picture, Food and People. There are 11 different topics and one random section. The random section provides 20 random questions from all the topics. Each topic consists of 20 multiple-choice questions with four options, testing your knowledge on different levels. Each time you provide an answer, right or wrong, an explanation is provided, along with the correct answer. Each answer also has a link to Wikipedia for those who want more information. Wikipedia is opened within the app, so you don’t have to close GeoQuiz.
At the end of the quiz, you’ll be presented with the score. It will also show you how quickly you were able to provide the answers. Since being quick, doesn’t give you extra points, I would say take your time in providing the answers! As an added value, GeoQuiz gives you the option to directly share your scores over Twitter with your friends. What good is a high score if you can’t brag about it?
GeoQuiz helps you brush up on your geography in a fun way, and even share it with friends. The app is fully mobile and doesn’t need a data connection to show the questions. This connection is, of course, needed for the add-ons (the app is free) and for the link with Wikipedia. If, by any chance, you have to close the app, you can return to it and continue where you left off, making it a great app for on the road.
I’m definitely keeping this app on my phone, either to improve my knowledge or to just shoot off some questions to my friends!
