1. Tell us about yourself – where you live, your job, things you like to do.
I moved my family to northern Idaho about six years ago. I knew I would be taking a cut in pay, but it would be worth it. To me, this is the place to live and raise a family amongst the mountains, rivers, lakes, and abundant wildlife. I am a husband, a father, and a finish carpenter. I make a living turning new and remodeled homes for people into sanctuaries from the world. I love my work. I also enjoy technology and gadgets in my spare time (usually when it’s nap time or bed time for little one).
2. Which Android device or devices do you own? Why did you choose Android? How do you customize your device?
One of my favorite gadgets is the Droid X. For years I used BlackBerry. After the new year, a client traded me a new Droid X for some woodwork. Ever since then I have “rooted”, de-bloated, “ROM’ed, and themed it many times over. I even bricked it, and then wrote a list on Appolicious on how to un-brick the Droid X.
3. What are your top apps and why?
You’d probably think my favorite apps might be Rom Manager, Bootstrap, Titanium Backup, or Droid X Overclocker; and though they are right up there, my favorite apps are the simple ones I use almost every day — TuneIn Radio, Audible for Android, Dolphin Mini, and BibleReader. Also during the week I find myself skimming through Engadget, and of course Appolicious.
4. What other Appolicious members do you admire the most and why?
I follow a few people on Appolicious and truly appreciate their input and advice. But the one I read most is the person who cracks me up with her lists: GirlGoneGeek from St. Louis. Another member would be etherealglimpse.
5. Anything else you’d like to share with the Appolicious audience?
Someday soon, I’m hoping to streamline my blog and invite everyone to visit and post any information helpful to enhance their Android. Until then, get “rooted” and don’t be afraid to increase your knowledge!
