Sep 23, 2010

Google has updated its Gmail app on Android devices, adding support for the recently launched Priority Inbox. This marks one of several mobile updates from Google, indicating its goals for creating a seamless experience for its apps, regardless of what platform you use.

Other new apps help you monitor your calories and air quality, and even the Steelers’ latest scores. Here are this week’s top Android apps.

TripAdvisor has added Traveler Lists & Tours to its free Android app, giving travelers new recommendations for exploring a local area. Created by other users, you can pick and choose which items on a list you’d like to try for yourself. Map them in the app, and set out on a new adventure.

Blio is an upcoming book reader for Android devices, featuring millions of free titles. The free app will have text-to-speech capabilities, so you’ll be able to listen to books while on the go. In all, it looks like the Android Blio app won’t be too different from the desktop version.
