Imagine this: you’ve spent the day enjoying yourself with your loved ones, doing whatever it is you do outside. The day is over, it’s time to return home. But… wait… Where is your car?

Find Parked Car is the simple app that attempts to solve the problem that has plagued mankind since Henry Ford. A sleek, simple leather-clad design demonstrates two functions:

Store The Car’s Location and Find Your Car. That’s literally it.

There’s no unnecessary clutter, no variety of dumb features and confusing settings, it’s simply just storing your car’s location using GPS and then finding your car using Google Maps whenever you need it.

There’s no waiting around or faffing about, you just open the app, press the button and it works.

Once you’ve parked your car, simply pressing the Store Location button saves the exact longitude and latitude of your vehicle, allowing you to then press the Find Your Car button to immediately tell you how to get there from wherever you are in the world.

findcarThis is a pretty basic, simple app but that is absolutely a good thing. It’s two buttons, a simple function, and a really very nice looking design. The ascetic of the app looks like a car dashboard from the 1950’s, giving it a very pleasant days-gone-by feeling. What more can you really ask for?

The app works very quickly and easily; it simply does what it says it’s going to do. After parking your car, during the time it takes to undo your seatbelt and get out of the car, it’s already found your car’s location. There’s no waiting around or faffing about, you just open the app, press the button and it works.

One slight annoyance is the fact that it doesn’t work underground. This is understandable considering it is GPS, but it does mean that you need to spend a few moments storing your location once you’re out of the parking garage.

One particularly interesting thing not really mentioned on the app page is that you don’t actually need to have a car to use it. You don’t enter license plates or tire size or whatever it is you do to register cars. It just stores your geographical position based on GPS.

One particularly interesting thing is that you don’t actually need to have a car to use it.

So… use it for anything. Visit a new town and find an amazing store you want to remember? Instead of writing down the name and looking it up on Google maps later, just clicked Store Car’s Location (and cackle manically to yourself as you cheat the system!) and then, when you want to return, Find Your Car to be given exact details of how to get there.

Though, it does feel somewhat wrong to use driving directions to get back to your car…
