Eljay is an app for the Android platform that allows you to write out Livejournal posts directly from your phone. This app is only going to be useful for those of you who have a livejournal account. Unfortunately the app does crash during certain actions and doesn’t allow you to browse through your posts or your friends posts.

When you first load up the app you’ll need to sign in to your account. There is no option to make an account from this app, so you’ll have to do it manually from the Livejournal website. After you’ve logged in, you’ll be presented with a blank post screen. The basic options here are: Title, Visibility, and Post Body.

Besides those basic options, you can also press menu to pull up Add, User Picture, Settings, and About. Add gives you the option to include Friend Filter, Location, Mood, Music, and Tags to your post. User picture apparently just crashes your app. And settings allows you to add all of the options in the Add tab to the main page.

Eljay is a handy app if you’re still using Livejournal to blog. The app is relatively easy to use, but it does have some kinks that need to be worked out. Overall, it is handy for making posts on the go, but without a way to view your friends posts, it’s only half effective.
