$99 Android deal at Walgreens
And Google’s not the only one getting a deal. Shoppers can scoop an Android tablet for $99 at Walgreens (WAG). The chain pharmacy retailer is the exclusive distributor of the Maylong M-150, the cheapest Android tablet on the market.
It’s got a 7-inch LCD resistive touch display, 256MB of RAM and a 400Mhz processor. That omits the multitouch, higher OS version, camera or 3G capabilities, but the device, although slow, still offers the basics.
Finding local deals
A new Android app will help you keep track of deals from various retailers. Milo is making its first steps into mobile, offering real-time shopping results from retailers’ inventories, logging nearby stores like Target, Macy’s, Crate & Barrel, and many others. You’ll also receive navigation to local stores and hopefully save some money in the process.
“Worst deal ever”
Another new app hasn’t fared so well with its release. Turns out, some apps actually do get banned from the Android Market. Replicator, a text message ‘spy’ app, was kicked out only 18 hours after launch. It can be secretly installed on another person’s phone to replicate and forward their texts, Developers DLP Mobile said they launched the app on Android because they didn’t think the App Store would approve it.
