What the app basically lets you do is track all the scores and recent events of your teams, and your teams only. I’m going to get my first major negative out of the way right now. In order to use the app, you need to link your Facebook account or your email address so that it can remember you in the future. This kind of annoys me, and I don’t see why it can’t work without this info. As soon as you get in though, you’re asked to find your teams from lists of their various sports. There’s a pretty good selection, from MLB, to NBA, to NFL, and more. Though, they are missing a lot of sports which are going to be added in future updates, such as Soccer or Cricket.
After finding your teams, they will be proudly displayed on your home page. Tapping on any team will open up all the recent relevant news, sorted by day, from all kinds of sources. Official sources like Sports Illustrated or networks like CBS, as well as regular people. You too, can become a sports journalist with this app. You can snap pictures and write stories regarding any team you want and submit it as news. I don’t know if there’s a filtering system to make sure all the news is legitimate, though I’m sure there is.
It’s interesting that anyone can contribute to the news of their favorite team though, it’s definitely something unique. There is also a top news section with all the biggest stories in sports. And if you want to search for something really specific, like a player or manager, you can just use the search function. I’m not a sports fan of any kind, so I can’t honestly comment on how good the app is, but it does seem to be very thorough. Luckily, you don’t need to know what I really think, because this app is completely free, so check it out.
