Dan Langford’s The Elements for Android tablets is both a beginner and advanced level chemistry student’s dream come true.

The app is essentially an interactive Periodic Table of the Elements, only much more sleek than the tired black on white crumbled sheet of paper.

While The Elements does give the users access to the classic table, though, the app has less conventional ways of finding your way around. Users can search from Actinium to Zirconium via an alphabetical listing of all the elements. Click on any individual element on this list and users can take a closer look at what is basically a Wikipedia-like article on the element’s properties.

The app’s sharp design places old school subject matter in a whole new light. There is a lot of information here, but everything contained in The Elements is arranged in a logical way, so that the average user won’t have any trouble finding their way around.
