I like that my phone doesn't look like anyone else's. I'm shallow like that, but I get such a kick out of the home launchers and all the ROMs and stuff that you just can't equal on even a jailbroken iPhone.
So true! And with some phones, you can just install other roms without any strange workarounds!

sync for contacts is my favorite! :-) but the one that makes everybody astonished Google Skymaps...
Sync is great indeed! Love the fact that it can merge contacts from different sources and even add twitter/facebook updates in there as well!
My favorite thing about the Android is probably the openness/options. I like that the Marketplace is open to all developers, a lot of carriers, eh, carry Droids, the home screens & notifications are way more customizable than the iPhone ... etc etc etc x aLOT
True :) I hate it when I have to pick a carrier to be able to get a phone! To me that is ridiculous! ;)
I like Android for its complete user convenience - the fact that i can personalise most aspects of the phone and the way it behaves!!
I like the Motorola Milestone in particular - just for being the best touch screen i have used in a while and enhancing my love for Android - my first love will always be a "Hero" though!!
Love it :)
I think it's more developer-friendly. I'm a huge fan of the openness -- the Android Open Source Project makes me smile :)
Sure thing! I am not a real developer but I tend to look a bit further then just how I can switch the device off/on!
I also love this. The ideas are endless. Only very minimal worries about what you can do and can't do but its hardly much and there are tons of roms and kernels and apps that can be unlocked. Google is not out to get you cause you rooted your phone as someone else is and now that its legal we get to play even more! :D I love it.
I played with the Iphone and its great to me. I don't hate apple but as much as I like the Iphone I love the android. App selection is growing rapidly and a lot of popular apps are the same cross device so its not a huge worry. The openness of the system and the possibilities are endless. The android market is a little rough around the edges but in terms of flexibility and what it allows on it and its reach is with little to no bounds. I love it.
I also love the sprint epic 4g with android because I have a beautiful amoled display that i can see outside and a physical keyboard. Man this is so much more to me than the iphone. I type way faster on a physical keyboard than on a virtual one.
I'm still discovering a lot on the phone but so far its been pretty amazing.
Oh and like you said, everything is in the cloud, I have reset the phone so many times and its so easy to get back on track.
Appbrain is a wonderful app for this too. Ask me in a week and I'll probably have a book of reason why I love this thing. :D
hehe :) love this story! Great to see you took the leap and trying Android!
Looking forward to your comments in a weeks time!

arvid says,
This is a question I am being asked quite often. I had an iPhone before but now I am totally hooked to Android. Main reason why?
Everything lives in the cloud!
When you switch phone, there is no need to run backups on your desktop and copying that over to your new phone. Everything will be available as soon as you sign in with your Google Account.
Same as with apps, Android Market will show the apps that you had installed and you can easily reinstall everything, even the apps that you purchased!
