APPOLICIOUS ADVISOR RATING:

3 of 5 bars
  • PRICE: Free
  • TASTY: An app filled with helpful information to have on hand when disaster strikes.
  • BUMMER: FEMA isn't as high of quality as it could be.
  • COOL: The app includes info on how to get involved with FEMA.

Add FEMA to your list of tablet apps to have on hand in case of an emergency.

It's a guide to what you can do before, during and after disasters like hurricanes, floods or terrorist attacks, in order to keep yourself safe. FEMA also helps you to create emergency kits, plan emergency meeting locations and find nearby FEMA Disaster Recovery Center locations and shelters.

FEMA is very basic and does not go into deep detail about specific scenarios. I found this to be strange, considering the app's developer. FEMA could also use a few design tweaks to make it easier to navigate and more appealing to the eye.

A lot of the information presented in the app is most helpful to have on hand before disaster strikes. Because of this, FEMA might not be as helpful during an emergency as you think it would be.
