Android App Tablet Review: Hootsuite

Review for HootSuite (Twitter & Facebook)

APPOLICIOUS ADVISOR RATING:

4 of 5 bars
  • PRICE: Free
  • TASTY: Keep track of (almost) all your social networks from one place.
  • BUMMER: You’ll still need other apps to do more network-specific things.
  • COOL: Update lots of networks with one touch.

Hootsuite connects all your many social networks, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and others on your Android tablet.

Once connected, the app brings all the status updates and news feeds (not to mention friends) you’d enjoy on all those networks and their various individual apps to one place. It’s kind of like a digital filing cabinet for social information.

Apart from searching for and messaging friends, you can also use HootSuite to update all your networks as to your status at the same time. You can also use it to upload images to your feeds, and all of it is easy to read on a big tablet screen.

HootSuite is handy, but it’s not as fully functional as, say, a dedicated Facebook app. Handy when you want to do lots of things at once, HootSuite is useful for the Internet social butterfly, but as a supplement to the dedicated apps for each social network.
