APPOLICIOUS ADVISOR RATING:

3 of 5 bars
  • PRICE: Free
  • TASTY: Know when and where earthquakes happen.
  • BUMMER: Earthquake! pushes users to the USGS website instead of keeping info inside the application.
  • COOL: Users can learn a lot about when and and where earthquakes are happening on Earth.

Earthquake! won't warn Android tablet users when the ground will start shaking, but it does an accurate job tracking where and when they've happened.

For worried family members, scientists or just the naturally curious, Earthquake! tracks all of the earthquakes that are rumbling below the surface of planet Earth and even notifies users when they happen in real-time.

Users can zoom in and out of these locations on a map or learn more about the specifics of that quake from the USGS website, which has information about whether people there felt the quake and the history of earthquakes in that spot.

It would be nice if some of this information came from the app directly, instead of pushing users to the USGS site, but Earthquakes! still offers useful alerts for Android tablet fans.
