APPOLICIOUS ADVISOR RATING:

4 of 5 bars
  • PRICE: Free
  • TASTY: Syncs with your PC Google Reader use for easy access to all your feeds.
  • BUMMER: Scaled-down access means you can’t do a lot more than read and mark articles as favorites.
  • COOL: Reading on a tablet is easy on the eyes.

Opting for simplicity and a clean presentation, Google Reader streams all your favorite news and blog posts to one location and makes it easy to read on a tablet’s big screen.

The app aggregates your RSS feed subscriptions into one big list, and allows you to divide them up into folders, sort entries by what’s newest, and read full articles by tapping any of the headlines in your feed. The app syncs with your Google account too.

Reading is a snap, and it’s a handy way to consume a lot of posts. The app is pretty free of frills, though, so if you want to edit your subscriptions or reorganize them, you’ll need to do it on your computer’s browser.

For a scaled-down approach to RSS feeds, Google Reader is a great option and carries a lot of ease of use in its tablet iteration.
