Today’s fresh list brings two updates and two new apps. The updates come from a real contender in mobile video content (Hulu Plus), and a key player in the mobile social space (Google+). The new apps are a fantasy RPG (Earth and Legend) and a new version of Hangman (Hanging with Friends).
Hulu Plus update (Free)
As you recall, the Hulu web service is free and delivers some current TV and older movie content for free online. The Hulu Plus service costs about $8 a month and provides deeper content including full back-seasons of TV shows and additional movies.
As well as improved playback performance, this app update adds support for eight more Android phones – HTC Incredible 2, HTC Evo 3D, HTC Sensation, Motorola Droid 3, Motorola Bionic, Motorola X2, LG Revolution, LG G2X and the HTC Flyer tablet.
Google+ update (Free)
This update moves the service out of invitation “alpha” status into an open “beta”. It also adds Hangouts to the mobile app which provides group video chats while on-the-go. “Huddle” is now called “Messenger” and you have more options to share photos while chatting with others.
Need more? The update brings improved video playback, enhanced public search, and more options when you long press posts in a stream.
Earth and Legend ($6.99)
Ready for the largest 3D RPG game available over Android? This heroic fantasy epic delivers real-time combat with three different skill lines (Melee, Bow, and Magic), the ability to own pets, real day and night based on a 24-hour system clock, a comprehensive weather system, and multiplayer over Wi-Fi capability.
Shop for food or go catch your own fish, roam anywhere in the world at any time, choose your own armor and weapons before battle, and use three slots for saving games.
Hanging With Friends (Free)
Build your own Hangman words with which to stump your friends and prepare yourself as they set out to boggle your mind with their own words. Buy or ask for hints from those in your network. Play against your real friends or be randomly matched against a stranger. Use the chat function to talk while in the midst of a game.
Play up to 20 games simultaneously but don’t worry about losing track: push notifications will tell you when it’s your turn.
