Android app Action Snap can capture moving objects

by Irfan Choudhury

Action Snap is a simple photography app that can capture still images of moving objects and those in action. It also allows the user to take multiple snaps and combine them later on.

Operating Action Snap is very simple. Aim the camera at the object you want to capture, press the capture button, and you are done. The app will allow you to process four separate frames into one. You can select between four or nine photo combinations. Snaps can be taken by only one click, while the time interval can be from as short as 0.1 second to 5 seconds.

With Action Snap, you can also take photos using the default image ratio or customize the frame to take square photos. Cool effect filters like Sepia, LOMO, and black-and-white are included within the app. You can take photos of sunsets, sunrises, life in general and even moving action. Images are easily share them with friends by posting them to many social media sites or by emailing them.

One major disadvantage that I see with this app is that it does not offer any options for editing the effects once the photos are taken. The resolution could have been better too, and the app lacks some basic options and features. For instance, there is no frame on the screen to indicate the photo capture area, there is no zoom facility and it cannot automatically create its own folder in the Android gallery or save the pictures to a set folder. Also, the app does not save the photos in the folder if they are shared via social media sites, which is a bit inconvenient.
