APPOLICIOUS ADVISOR RATING:

4 of 5 bars
  • PRICE: Free
  • TASTY: Import lots of RSS feeds and control how they look on your screen.
  • BUMMER: Photos pulled from the Internet in feeds look blurry or pixelated.
  • COOL: Draw on your own pictures and saving them for later.

One of the handiest uses of tablets is for reading news articles because of the big screen and ease on the eyes. News feed app Taptu - DJ Your News excels in this category, making manipulating RSS feeds easy.

Taptu’s greatest asset is its visual treatment of RSS feeds. Users can import streams of articles or information from just about anywhere, including Google Reader, Facebook or Twitter. You can also search for streams through Taptu’s “Stream Store” (although it won’t cost you anything) to find the news you’re interested in. When you have streams, Taptu arranges them in rows. A quick swipe sideways cycles the stories in a feed; a swipe down cycles the feeds. Tap on a story to read it – simple as that.

While it at times suffers from some blurry photos, Taptu ultimately gives you a lot of control over your desired content and makes reading it easy on a big screen.
