by Ian Black

Going green doesn’t require you to leave your Android device behind. Get in sync with your electric car by downloading the fresh Nissan LEAF app. Then, get smarter in managing your monthly cell bill with Limit Your Call Pro and live in the future with Roboto HD.

Nissan LEAF (Free)

For decades, car makers have been slow to adopt high-tech, but the wheel is beginning to turn. Owners of the all-electric Nissan LEAF can take control of their vehicles with this new Android app.

It lets you turn on and off the car’s climate control, check the state of the battery, toggle the charging, see the estimated charge complete time, and view the current driving range in miles, and more.

The app requires a subscription to CARWINGS. Non-LEAF owners can operate the app in demo mode.

Limit Your Call Pro (Free)

Tired of blowing past your voice call minutes within a billing cycle and suffering the resulting overage charges? This app will hang up your call the minute your reach your limit. Yes, the people you are speaking with might be offended but your wallet will thank you.

The app warns you in every way possible – audible alerts, notification bar messages, and vibration – of the approaching shut off.

Roboto HD ($2.99)

“Jane, how do you stop this crazy thing?” You may be too young to remember this line from the classic Saturday morning cartoon, The Jetsons, but you’ll share the sentiment as soon as you start playing Roboto HD, a raucous platform game set in a future gone mad.

Roboto is a little resourceful robot accidently separated from his metal girlfriend. He must brave treacherous conveyor belts, laser shooting factory robots, tractor beams, and many other obstacles to get back to her. The rocking soundtrack, amazing graphics, and off-the-mechanical-hook action make it worth the money.
