Fresh Android Apps for July 1: FlightTrack update, Pool Party, Zenonia 3

by Caitlin M. Foyt

In today's fresh Android apps, never miss a flight again, have a pool party on your phone and turn into the medieval warrior you’ve always secretly wanted to be.

FlightTrack update ($4.99)

The wildly popular FlightTrack app has just been updated for Android Honeycomb tablets. Landing just in time to help you to prepare for your summer travels, the app gives users real-time departures, delays and gate number information. The app is even said to have a "map-centric" experience to make flight-tracking more visual and easy to follow.

The app also keeps you updated on cancellations and does what it can to help you find an alternate flight and provides users with updates on what kind of weather they can expect when landing at their destination.

Pool Party (Free)

Pool Party, Google’s answer to popular iOS photo sharing app Instagram, has just popped up in the Android Marketplace. The app, designed by developer Slide, doesn’t have the fun, hip photos all of your friends are posting on their Facebook pages, though. Instead, Pool Party is focused on the “party” aspect of it. It’s a group photo sharing program that allows individual users to contribute photos into group albums, which then pop-up on other user’s devices in real time. Much like the exclusive Google+, this app remains in its invite-only beta testing phase. To request an invite, you can visit http://www.poolpartyapp.com/requestinvite.

Zenonia 3 (Free)

Zenonia 3 may not have the depth that Final Fantasy or World of Warcraft do, but it apparently does still have everything you love about those games: tasty visuals, challenging quests and plenty of battles. This game, too is a mystical RPG set during the Renaissance period, which means that you can be the sword-fighting knight or the magical medicine (wo)man you’ve always wanted to be.
