Fresh Android Apps for June 30: Outdoor Navigation, Zombie Takedown, Grenadier

by Caitlin M. Foyt

Today in Fresh Apps avoid being eaten alive by zombies, take an uninhibited wilderness adventure out your back door and blast grenades at your enemies.

Outdoor Navigation (Free)

Recently updated, Outdoor Navigation is exactly what you think it is -- a navigational tool you can use when you’re hiking in a local park or exploring the open wilderness, including online route planning, track sharing, the ability to send messages in different languages and precise digital navigation. This way, you can enjoy your biking, jogging, skiing or geocaching adventure without becoming lost. It looks as though you can also easily call for help, though, in case you do lose your way.

Outdoor Navigation’s new developments have been made to make the app run a bit more speedily.

With things starting to warm up outside, this sounds like a fantastic app to have on hand in your Android app library.

Zombie Takedown (Free)

You should never underestimate the dangerous potential of a slow moving human corpse. In the game of Zombie Takedown, the idea is to do just that -- protect yourself and your fellow survivors from an army of the hungry undead.

These monsters will slowly rise up from their freshly dug graves and you've got to immobilize them as quickly as possible. If you aren’t quick on your feet, your worst horror movie nightmares will come true and regardless of the size of your shotgun or the weight of your baseball bat, you will soon be overwhelmed by more than you can count. Aim for the head and don’t get eaten alive!

Grenadier (Free)

There’s a war going on and you have but a single weapon to defend yourself and your platoon: a grenade launcher. A game style that’s very similar to Angry Birds, you must fling your grenades at the nearby enemy.

Unfortunately for you, you have a limited number of these explosives you must use careful strategy and your best aim if you want to clear the level. If you’re feeling confident, post your top scores to the global leaderboards or compete with your friends and other players worldwide. The game is still quite new, with a limited number of levels, but the developers have noted that there will soon be many more to come.
