Fresh Android Apps for Apr. 29: WatchedItem, Kid Cell Safe

by Ian Black

Today’s fresh apps are all about observation. Track cool stuff on eBay with WatchedItem or remotely parent your kids with Kid Cell Safe.

WatchedItem (Free)

Ever cruise eBay auctions and wonder if you are missing some cool stuff being sold without you knowing. Never again!

This app’s creators believe the best items on eBay are those that are “watched” by the most people (as opposed to those that have received the most bids). Thus, whenever you launch the app it finds the items with the most watchers and lists them for you to browse.

The app peruses eBay in the US and in the UK, so the selection is vast.

Kid Cell Safe (Free)

Worried about your kids using cell phones? This app helps you track what they do with one. It focuses on stopping cyber bullies or predators.

Once installed, the app monitors the items you select from a customizable list including text messages, calls, pictures, video, installed apps, contacts, browsed sites, and more. It uploads reports to a secure and private site for parents to review.

The app and service are free to use until December 30, 2011. After that, it’s $7.95 per year.
