Fresh Android Apps for Apr. 8: Pro HDR Camera, join.me Viewer, Baconnection

by Ian Black

Learn about HDR photography, attend a meeting over your phone, scratch your bacon itch in today’s fresh apps.

Pro HDR Camera ($1.99)

Ever hear of High Dynamic Range photography?

Regular photographs don’t have a great range between the lightest lights and darkest darks. HDR photography enhances the range by capturing two exposures one for highlights and one for shadow and then aligns the two together to form a single photo. This app creates HDR using our Android’s camera.

Choose fully automatic or manual mode where you adjust the settings yourself.

join.me Viewer (Free)

Need to attend a meeting over your phone? Try join.me Viewer.

Download the app to your phone, it works over 3G or Wi-Fi connections. Send the other attendees to https://join.me to connect with you over your phone. They can press the “Share” button to show a PC screen in the meeting.

The service features chat, zoom, a list of attendees, and screen sharing. The meetings can be secured by a 9-digit code.

Baconnection ($0.99)

Bacon lovers can now carry the mighty B vitamin around over their Android phones.

This app from Reader’s Digest includes bacon recipes from Allrecipes.com, Taste of Home and Every Day with Rachel Ray. Or, you can play the Bacon Bits trivia game, earn bacon badges, read reviews or recipes and earn a Ph.B in Baconology.

The app also gives you the opportunity to share recipes with your friends.
