Fresh Android Apps for Mar. 11: StubHub, LevelUp, SF Arts Guide

by Ian Black

Need to get out? Today’s fresh apps can help. StubHub lets you buy or sell event tickets, LevelUp delivers coupons for merchants around you, and SF Arts Guide shows you where the cool people are hanging out (but only in San Francisco).

StubHub (Free)

Marketed as “the world’s largest fan-to-fan ticket marketplace”, StubHub lets you buy or sell tickets to a variety of live events.

Track your favorite artists and get alerted when they come to your town. Search for tickets for a show and browse the seating chart to see their location. Filter results by quantity or price.

Trying to sell tickets? Manage your listings from the app including the ability to deactivate or reactivate a listing or adjust the price.

LevelUp (Free)

Groupon isn’t the only dealmaker. The Google Venture-funded SCVNGR has dropped this new app on the Android Market and it means to strike a better deal for both consumers and merchants.

LevelUp rewards you for visiting one of their registered merchants with a bargain similar to Groupon – you spend X dollars for Y amount of stuff. But, that’s where things change. After visiting once, you unlock the level two coupon which is even better, and so on and so on. Right now, the app only offers bargains for Boston and Philidelphia, but other cities are on the way.

SF Arts Guide (Free)

San Francisco has an incredible arts scene. This app will help you navigate it. It lists over 1000 events each month for museums, concert halls, dance venues, theaters, and more.

Search by keyword, category, date or view today’s events. View everything on a map, buy tickets, book mark events, and much more. Still can’t decide? Read arts highlights from the SFArts.org’s staff of critics. Go out and get cultured!
