Fresh Android Apps for Mar. 8: Child Growth, Pull-Ups iGo, Cal Poly Contest

by Ian Black

The kids are all right. In today’s fresh apps, Child Growth Watcher allows you to monitor your child’s growth curve and Pull-Ups iGo Potty helps you celebrate number two. If you have a kid in college, you might be able to rate his or her Android app in Cal Poly Contest.

Child Growth Watcher (Basic) (Free)

Got kids? Then you already know, it’s a good idea to keep track of their height, weight, and other body stats as they age. In conjunction with your pediatrician, you need to track whether they are growing at a typical rate.

This app lets you record the vital stats yourself, so it won’t be just your kid's doctor that has all that data. Enter your child’s height, weight, age, head circumference and other stats. The app supports tracking multiple kids as well.

Pull-Ups iGo Potty (Free)

Potty training is challenging, but this app helps take some of the load off – yeah, pun intended.

From the makers of Pull-Ups, iGo Potty lets you and your child set a potty schedule or just track when the big event takes place. View the history of success or celebrate late breaking developments with the app's "Fun" section. When your child finally “graduates” to regular underwear, the app provides a personalized diploma which you can print.

Cal Poly Contest (Free)

Help one of the great tech schools of the west coast rate their students’ Android apps. California Polytechnic State University offers an Android app development class and they want your ratings on the output.

This app gives you access to download and try the latest student apps and then score them for usefulness and overall likeability. Find location-based messaging apps, phone utilities, fitness apps, and much more. But, don’t want too long ‘cause this app has an expiration date – feedback is needed before the end of March!
