Fresh Android Apps for Feb. 25: World Weather Forecast Pro, Grocery Guru, Lingo Quiz Lite

by Ian Black

Winter hasn’t slowed down the release of fresh useful Android apps. Today, World Weather Forecast Pro delivers the latest forecast, Grocery Guru makes shopping more efficient, and Lingo Quiz Pro helps make you fluent in a new language.

World Weather Forecast Pro (Free)

No better time to download a weather forecasting app than during winter. World Weather Forecast Pro claims months of usability testing, and it appears to have paid off with its slick interface.

Search for weather in any location on Earth or just shake for the forecast of your current location. Need more? Look at the webcam showing the current view, check the radar or satellite views, or read about the phases of the moon.

Grocery Guru (Free)

Who doesn’t need a grocery list app? Grocery Guru goes above and beyond the typical app by providing the ability to keep multiple lists – one for your regular shopping, one for the special party, maybe another for kids' lunches. You get the idea.

Share your lists with others – like other members of your family. Tap once to check off items as you shop. Select items from a preloaded list or customize your own. Finally, find a grocery store near you and get directions there.

Lingo Quiz Lite (Free)

You’ve heard of, and maybe use, language flash cards. It’s a great way to increase your vocabulary in a foreign language and test yourself on your fluency. One problem with typical flash cards is that you can master a set and then it loses its value.

Lingo Quiz allows you to add new words and their translations easily from any web source and import it into a dictionary for this apps' flash cards. The app already includes a set of dictionaries for English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, French, German, Russian, Czech, and Polish.
