Fresh Android Apps for Feb. 21: Bizzy for Android, PetBall, Boot & Startup Sounds

by Ian Black

Presidents Day calls for seriousness and respect. Just kidding. Have a little fun on your day off. Bizzy for Android aims to get you better restaurant recommendations while PetBall turns your Android into a virtual pet. Also, Boot and Startup Sounds lets you set classic old techno sounds as your phone notification tones.

Bizzy for Android (Free)

Think online restaurant recommendations are too generic? Finding that your tastes aren’t necessarily matched by random reviews you read on the web? Check out Bizzy for Android.

Sign-up for a free Bizzy account online, and Bizzy’s recommendation engine learns your tastes by asking you around 20 questions. In the background, Bizzy finds similarities between you and other people and then will recommend new places to you based on these criteria.

PetBall Free (Free)

The virtual pet phase is still pretty hot. With this app you can create you own pet and then work hard every few minutes to keep it happy and healthy.

Like a real baby you have to feed it, put it to bed, keep it clean and spend time playing with it. With all this action on the phone, you probably won’t have time for calls.

Boot and Startup Sounds (€1.29)

Freak out those around you with blast-from-the-past sounds as your email and text message notification tones. You’ll find every tone from all the old Windows and Mac operating systems as well as Nintendo Wii, Gameboy, GameCube, PlayStation, Xbox, Sega and many others.

The app is nothing fancy, but the audio will definitely send you back in time.
