It’s only Wednesday but it’s OK to start planning for the weekend. With the new Redbox app you can start looking for the next movie you’d like to watch. If you visit Redbox kiosks you’ll find this app very helpful.
Today’s other fresh apps work to improve your phone. Make Your Clock Widget lets you update your home screen with a personalized clock, and Norton Mobile Utilities keeps your phone and you out of trouble.
Redbox rocked the DVD retail world with its kiosk-based $1 per night movie rentals. Now, their new app arrives to shake up the Android Market. Use this app to find a Redbox kiosk near you or browse for a movie you’d like to rent.
My favorite part of Redbox on the web is the ability to reserve a specific movie at a particular location so you’re guaranteed it will be there when you arrive. Fortunately, this app supports this feature. You’ll just need to log-in with your Redbox account.
Make Your Clock Widget (Free)
This app’s name tells it all. This one-trick download focuses in on a simple but very useful function – customizing your home screen’s clock. How big should the clock be? Should you include the date? Do you want straight text or a flip-style clock?
You decide the answers to all these questions and change your mind every day if you like. The creators say more features – like weather, battery and a world clock capability – are coming soon.
Norton Mobile Utilities (Free)
For apps, it can stop, uninstall or move apps to an SD card just like a task manager. For phone usage, let Norton watch and warn you as you near your service plans limits for SMS messages and voice calling. And finally for status, the app shows you battery, CPU, memory and network snapshots.
