Lookout Mobile launches premium security app – we’re giving away subscriptions

by Kristen Nicole

Mobile security has taken a divergent path from PCs, as the unique safety needs for smartphones have brought about new concerns to address. Lookout Mobile Security has been an early entrant to the mobile security space, beating many known security companies to smartphones. Best of all, Lookout’s mobile security tools are free.

But today, Lookout Mobile Security is approaching its monetization structure with the release of its premium offerings. Lookout Premium features advanced security tools, and we’ve got 10 free annual subscriptions to give away.

Lookout Premium comes with three main upgrades, for added security and privacy protection, enhanced backup and restoration, and priority query support. Privacy Advisor is included in Lookout Premium, which offers an overall view of the personal information on your phone, as well as which apps are accessing it. It’s the type of consumer-centric control that’s going to rise in demand as apps become more interconnected in their data-sharing. This is also a core competency for Lookout’s mobile security tools, going all the way back to their inception.

Other features in Lookout Premium are remote lock and remote wipe, premium support and additional data backup and restore capabilities. Anyone that’s lost their phone knows the frustration of potentially losing their data or having someone else access it. Gaining more control over your own data and device is a wonderful gain of modern technology, and Lookout is taking advantage of its unique position in the mobile sector.

If you’d like to get your free annual subscription, be one of the first 10 to email us at feedback@appolicious.com and we’ll pass your info along to the head honchos at Lookout. You’ll need to first create an account at Lookout so it can be upgraded. The rest of you can still get the premium security tools at the reasonable price of $29.99 per year.

Editor's Note: The competition to win a free subscription has now ended. Thanks to everyone who entered, and congratulations to all the winners.
