Slow Good Reader Android app can be frustrating

by Caitlin M. Foyt

A Good Reader app for your Android phone is by no means the best RSS feed manager available for your phone, but it will do the trick. Working as a standard reader, the app suffices as a service that will allow you to keep up with current events and your favorite blogs and message boards while on the go.

For those who are not familiar with RSS readers, they are applications that allow users to follow content available online, but without taking the time to actually visit these web sites. They are ideal for people who follow multiple blogs and news sources on a regular basis.

A Good Reader has a clean and simple design, making it very easy to navigate. But, it does have a significant flaw. The Reader sync takes a frustratingly long time to refresh feeds and sync back to Google Reader. The app seemed to work very well with text, but not as well with photos.

This is the kind of RSS feed reader that might be most ideal for the kind of user who follows just a handful of web sites, rather than a whole bunch.
