Facebook is one of the web's largest photo-sharing networks, making it a top priority for mobile users as well. Make sure everyone sees your snapshots, with options to upload directly to your mobile album. Recent updates to the free Facebook Android app also makes it easier to view others' albums.

Plixi, formerly known as TweetPhoto, is a great way to share images beyond Facebook. Added support for Facebook and other networks makes this a handy app. Free, the Plixi app is also building a social network, letting you share and search images based on events and locations.

For private photo-sharing purchasing options, LifePics has a solution. It's Android app grants access to shared albums, for viewing and, soon, ordering. You can also upload images directly to your albums. Free, the LifePics app is good for families that want to share photos to order calendars, cards and other products.

Photo editing, effects and resources

Have more fun with your mobile photos with the FxCamera app for Android. Create a vintage-Polaroid look, or turn your pictures into Warhol-style art. Free, FxCamera features auto-focusing and basic editing tools, in addition to photo effects.

Professional photographers will appreciate Snap Photo Pro, with its full-featured Android app. Priced at 99 cents, Snap Photo Pro comes with a timer, multi-burst settings, contrast and brightness adjustments, zoom and filters, just to name a few options.

Vignette is an awesome effects camera. It does all the vintage stuff as well as fake tilt-shift, and unlike apps like the iPhone's Hipstamatic, you can change the effects after you take the picture.

Associated Apps:  Vignette (deprecated)
