Colossatron ($0.99)

ColossatronWhat’s it about? The latest game from Fruit Ninja developer Halfbrick has players equipping a giant robot snake so it can destroy cities.

What’s cool? Colossatron has come from space to ravage cities and destroy just about everything, and it's your job to help in this casual arcade title. You don't actually control the robotic snake known as Colossatron, but you can make it more powerful by grabbing “power cores” and adding them to the snake. Each core is a different kind of weapon or ability, and where you place them on Colossatron determines their effectiveness and uses. Combine a red and blue power core to make a repair unit; combine three lightning-shooting blue ones to create a more powerful one. You'll also unlock upgrades for the monster as you progress through the game, to allow you to wreak more destruction.

Who’s it for? Fans of casual games that ask for strategy and quick thinking will dig Colossatron and its rampant destruction.
