New Android apps worth downloading: Spreaker - Radio & Podcast and MapMyFitness Workout Trainer updates, Clash of Clans

Looking to start your own podcast radio show? Today's first fresh app, Spreaker, is for you – it allows you to record your own podcasts and radio shows and upload them, or listen to the works of other users. We've also got an update to workout app MapMyFitness Workout Trainer, which tracks your workouts and helps you attain your fitness goals. Finally, Clash of Clans lets players band together or take one another on in multiplayer strategy games.

Spreaker – Radio & Podcasts update (Free)

What’s it about? Create your own podcasts, Internet radio broadcasts and more wherever you are with Spreaker.

What’s cool? Podcasting app Spreaker pulls double duty for Android users. First, it lets you listen to all kinds of Internet radio shows and podcasts across your Internet connection. You can browse through shows in multiple categories, find what you want to hear and listen, and follow other users and podcasts that you like. But Spreaker also lets you create your own podcasts quickly and easily by setting up a profile and going to work. You can use your Android device's microphone to record yourself wherever you are, then upload your shows using the Spreaker app for others to find and listen to. The app has just gotten a huge interface revamp and new curated lists of content in its latest update.

MapMyFitness Workout Trainer update (Free)

MapMyFitness Workout TrainerWhat’s it about? Use MapMyFitness Workout Trainer to keep track of your workouts, track what you eat, and meet your fitness goals.

What’s cool? MapMyFitness Workout Trainer is all about helping you get into shape by staying organized. The app can track some 600 different workout activities, including runs, walks, bike rides and hikes using your Android device's GPS and accelerometer. You can also use it to log things like what you eat and how many calories you consume and burn each day. MapMyFitness also provides useful information like elevation profiles and your overall workout stats across a number of activities. Its latest update adds integration with GymPact, a service that encourages users to work out by providing them with cash rewards – and taking cash penalties when they miss their workouts.

Who’s it for? Anyone looking into shape can benefit from the kinds of information and tracking provided by MapMyFitness, and the GymPact monetary rewards don't hurt either.

Clash of Clans (Free)

Clash of ClansWhat’s it about? Social strategy game Clash of Clans encourages players to create villages, raise armies, band together and fight off various enemies in top-down strategy gameplay.

What’s cool? Clash of Clans is a strategy title that's all about online play. Your job is to take control of a clan and raise an army by building villages and training troops, then taking them into battle against all kinds of opponents. You can fight off the evil Goblin King and join together with other players to take him down, or raise your own clan and challenge other players as you rise through the ranks over time. Clash of Clans includes 14 different unit types for you to use to build the ultimate, balanced army, and you can upgrade your troops to make them even more powerful as you take on other players and climb the game's leaderboards.
