Box update (Free)

What’s it about? Cloud storage service Box lets you access your documents and files from the Internet, whether from your computer or your Android device using the service's dedicated app.

What’s cool? Like other cloud storage services, Box is a handy way of getting your documents wherever you are, whenever you need them. The service offers 5 gigabytes of storage when you sign up for free, and you can save photos, videos, word processing documents and more, and access all of it from your Android device with ease over a cellular or Wi-Fi Internet connection. You can also share files with others for collaboration through the service. Box's latest update adds new language support and new privacy settings for sharing items through share links, as well as the ability to preview audio and video files in your storage space.

Who’s it for? Anyone who needs access to files remotely or does a lot of collaborating will find a lot of use in Box.

What’s it like? You can get more cloud storage options from Dropbox and Google Drive.

Slickdeals (Free)

What’s it about? Deal-sharing site Slickdeals.net comes to your Android device, bringing all the deals that users share among one another and making it easy to find discounts at the stores around you.

What’s cool? Slickdeals leverages its community to help users find useful deals in their areas. The app relies on users sharing what they find at stores around them to let others know about the best deals, and combines that information with info from sites such as Groupon and Living Social to help you save money whenever you head out to buy something. The app includes a “frontpage deals” section and can be geared to kick Push notifications your way when new deals pop up, and you can also post deals you find, vote on deals to help elevate them, and leave comments on those you've tried out.

Who’s it for? Coupon-clippers and other frugal folks will find a lot of help with saving money with Slickdeals

What’s it like? You can get lots of coupons direct from Groupon and LivingSocial, as well.

Battle Towers (Free)

What’s it about? A strategy game that balances resource-gathering and defense with leading warriors into battle, Battle Towers has players snatching victories through careful planning and strategic thinking.

What’s cool? Like other strategy titles, 3-D strategy game Battle Towers is all about balancing your time between efficient management of resources, and smashing the enemy into dust. Players use their structures to gather resources that can be used to either upgrade buildings (and thus increase their defensive capabilities) or summon warriors to create armies (which can go on the offensive). The game uses a medieval fantasy world as a backdrop and uses simple touch controls to make it easy to issue orders and react to new threats.

Who’s it for? Fans of strategy titles such as StarCraft II on PC will get a kick out of Battle Towers.

What’s it like? Try Lords & Knights for more medieval strategy, and Great Big War Game for something a little more cartoonish and modern.
