by Phil Hornshaw

If you’re a seller on eBay, you’re going to want to check out the updated version of eBay’s official Android app. Next, Mobento brings educational videos to users from sources like Stanford, TED and NASA, followed by Expendable Rearmed, an Android version of a classic Sega Dreamcast shooter.

Official eBay Android App update (Free)

What’s it about? Access online auction site eBay remotely with your Android device with the site’s official app, where you can buy and bid on items, set up to sell your own items, and monitor auctions from anywhere.

What’s cool? The updated eBay app is geared toward making things work better for sellers, streamlining the process of creating item listings to make it go quicker when you’re setting up an auction with your Android device. You can save multiple listings, calculate shipping costs and fill in various forms throughout the process. In general, sellers should find things a lot easier to use now.

Who’s it for? Anyone who uses eBay should check out this app, especially if you want to monitor auctions without sitting at your computer. If you’re an eBay seller, however, this update is specifically for you.

What’s it like? Amazon Mobile is another good alternative for finding products online, and eBay’s Half.com app makes using that site via mobile a snap.

Mobento (Free)

What’s it about? Mobento offers educational videos from a number of sources, streaming to your Android device.

What’s cool? There’s a lot you can learn from the content of Mobento, which utilizes sources such as Stanford, Yale, NASA and TED talks. The app offers a search function, allowing you to paw through its 600-plus videos. You get the option of either streaming the video over your Internet connection or downloading.

Who’s it for? Anyone interested in things like TED talks and NASA, plus learning, technology and science of any kind, will find something of interest in Mobento.

What’s it like? For more TED talks, try the official TED app, and NASA has an app of its own.

Expendable Rearmed ($2.99)

What’s it about? A reworked port from a well-loved 1999 Sega Dreamcast and PC arcade shooter, Expendable Rearmed puts players in a top-down third-person perspective with tons of enemies to blast and stuff to blow up.

What’s cool? Expendable Rearmed is a fast-paced, great-looking shooter experience, and it nails that console-quality feeling. It’s a great experience for running around and wreaking havoc against enemies and inanimate objects. Since it was previously a game for other platforms, Expendable Rearmed also packs hours of entertaining gameplay.

Who’s it for? Shooter fans will get a kick out of Expendable Rearmed, as will fans of older PC and Dreamcast gaming.
