New Android apps worth downloading: Angry Birds Star Wars, Google Shopper and Dunkin’ Donuts updates

Google Shopper’s recent update kicks off today’s crop of fresh apps, bringing better reviews and search results to comparison shoppers. You can save some money if you’re a Dunkin’ Donuts customer with its updated app. Finally, if you’re a fan of Star Wars and Angry Birds, the newest game from Rovio mashes the two together.

Google Shopper update (Free)

What’s it about? Search for products by barcode, description or even by taking a photo. Google Shopper provides all kinds of information including reviews, nearby prices and more.

What’s cool? Google Shopper redesigned its user interface to make the app work better, and includes a few new features. The app lets you search for local sales using your Android device’s location information, and more images are present in search results. It also added GoodGuide reviews to help you figure out whether products are worth your hard-earned cash.

Who’s it for? If you like shopping online or comparing products and stores for a good deal, Google Shopper is for you.

Dunkin’ Donuts update (Free)

What’s it about? The official app of Dunkin’ Donuts has lots of what you’d expect, like a store locator and virtual menus, but also packs things like special offers.

What’s cool? Dunkin’ Donuts’ update adds exclusive mobile offers. Mobile app users can get access to coupons and other goodies that can be redeemed at Dunkin’ Donuts stores, which means that savvy users can get their coffee and donuts on the cheap.. You can also send virtual gift cards to friends, which is definitely a handy feature.

Who’s it for? Obviously, Dunkin’ Donuts repeat customers are the target audience. If you like the coffee and the rest of what the stores offer, check out this app.

What’s it like? Starbucks also offers cool features through its mobile app if you prefer their coffee and treats, and if you’re a little less coffee-partisan, give Coffee Finder Pro a try.

Angry Birds Star Wars ($0.99)

What’s it about? Combining levels similar to Angry Birds and Angry Birds Space, but with new elements, Angry Birds Star Wars successfully brings the two well-loved franchises together.

What’s cool? As always, Rovio Mobile has put together a nicely polished puzzle experience in Angry Birds Star Wars that finds humor in its references, but manages to use Star Wars tropes and elements to alter the Angry Birds formula in some great ways. As always, you fling birds at structures to destroy pigs, but you’ll have blasters, lightsabers and the Force to contend with, too.

Who’s it for? Fans of Angry Birds, casual games and Star Wars all will find a lot to love here.

What’s it like? If you haven’t tried the stellar Angry Birds Space, you really should. Miniclip’s Siege Hero is similar to the Angry Birds formula as well, but takes a first-person perspective.
