The Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone was officially announced today in London, and it’s a big deal. Boasting a gigantic 4.8-inch screen and a quad-core processor, it will arrive this month in Europe and should come to North American carriers in the summer with 4G capabilities on board.
One interesting aspect of today’s Samsung presentation however, was the appearance of Flipboard on the device. The previously-iOS exclusive app, which melds your news and social feeds into a very readable magazine-like stream, has been expected to launch on Android for a while, and this is our first evidence that it’s finally arriving.
Will it be a Galaxy S III exclusive? According to Slashgear, that might just be the case. Apparently, the app pretty much resembles its iOS counterpart, but with the addition of a home screen widget for Android users.
We’ll bring you more info on Flipboard and its Android debut once we know more.
