Android app developers interested in participating in Samsung’s Galaxy Note S Pen Challenge have until April 2 to submit their applications. Samsung is awarding $205,000 in cash and prizes to developers to create apps specific for this revolutionary new device.
Samsung’s Director of Product Marketing, Ryan Bidan, recently participated in a social media-directed interview to showcase all the possibilities the Galaxy Note provides.
A rockstar panel of judges for the Galaxy Note S Pen Challenge was recently announced, and public voting will occur between April 9 and April 16. The winners will be announced on April 20.
Developers interested in participating in the contest must use Samsung’s S Pen SDK 2.0.1. Developers of the best overall apps created for the S Pen, as well as best apps for games, media, sports, social, lifestyle, travel, education, productivity, entertainment and other categories will win cash and prizes.
The judges noted above will assess several attributes, including overall use and S Pen integration. Developers who participate will retain ownership of their titles as well as how they are marketed. Samsung does request that developers specify that participating apps indicate that they are “Made for the S Pen Galaxy Note” when marketing their apps. See the official rules and regulations for more information. Developers can apply for the Samsung Galaxy Note S Pen Challenge here.
