Fresh Android Apps for Jan. 3: Are You Watching This?!, Quell Reflect, Fruits&Fun

by Ian Black

To TV or not to TV in the New Year, that is the question that today’s fresh Android apps asks. If TV sports makes you feel all “1st and goal” inside, you’ll want to download Are You Watching This?! But if you’d rather walk your downward dog, check out the centered Quell Reflect. Keep a close eye on your fruit basket with Fruit&Fun.

Are You Watching This?! (Free)

Do you love to watch dramatic sporting events and kick yourself when you miss them? This app is for you!

Tell the app which cable or satellite TV networks you have then set your alerts for teams or sports you like. A 'good' rating means the event, which could be any U.S.-based arena football, auto racing, men’s or women’s college basketball, college football, MLB, NBA, NHL, NFL, or soccer game, is just run-of-the-mill. 'Great' specifies the game might be an upset or a close finish, and 'epic' means you need to get to a TV immediately. Need more? Let the app be your one-click TV remote to guide you to the game.

Quell Reflect ($1.55)

TV isn’t always the answer. Sometimes it’s nice to relax but not completely turn off your brain. Enter a “zen puzzle” game like Quell Reflect.

Here, your finger guides a drop of water around a pastel colored maze. You’ll do meditative actions like having one drop absorb another to move past obstacles. The object is to collect all the pearls. There are no time limits, no leaderboard, no crashing enemies or explosions, just a calm and peaceful puzzle to keep you in the moment.

Fruits&Fun (Free)

Gems are not healthy and fruit tastes too delicious to slash with a sword, so climb into this fruit basket and start matching. Slide the berries, bananas, strawberries and other produce to get three in a row, either horizontally or vertically. If you do, you’ll make the fruit disappear and be well on your way to clearing the board.

Be careful, because sometimes a row will be locked until you make the match available there and if you run out of moves on the counter, the screen turns into a massive smoothie.
