by Ian Black

Ever wanted to build your own arcade? Start your pinball room using Zen Pinball THD. When it’s time for big screen fun, try TWC TV, and for the biggest download of your life, check out Generation of Chaos.

TWC TV (Free)

Are you a Time Warner Cable subscriber? If so, stop reading this and download this free app for your Android tablet. It lets you change channels on your TV and manage your DVR no matter where you are.

It also features an interactive program guide through which you can search by title or specific episode, view all or favorite shows, and schedule upcoming recordings for your DVR.

The app supports 3.x Android tablets and requires Wi-Fi and a Standard Package or higher Time Warner subscription.

Zen Pinball THD (Free)

When is Android pinball better than the version you’ll find at the nearest arcade? When it’s Zen Pinball THD.

Created to leverage the power of Tegra-based Android devices, this app vies for ultra realism in ball physics and pinball action. Expect stunning graphics and gameplay worthy of a pinball wizard. In an interesting twist, the app is also a pinball shop where you can purchase additional tables via the in-app store. The app comes free with a Sorcerer’s Lair table but you can buy Marvel-branded tables like Wolverine and Fantastic Four and many others in the future as well.

Generation of Chaos ($14.98)

There’s massive and then there’s Generation of Chaos. This strategy RPG requires a 1.8GB SD card download after installation so Wi-Fi is “absolutely required” says the description in the Android Market. What do you get for that much space? Over 100 hours of gameplay.

The object is to build and defend your own kingdom. You’ll end up playing 150 different characters across 10 campaigns, each containing a host of battles. Expect anime-style graphics and animated sequences, but don’t forget to bring your high-end Android device and a voluminous SD card.
