Fresh Android Apps for Nov. 23: QuickOffice Pro update, Toy Village, Angry Piggy (Adventure)

by Ian Black

Don’t forget to give thanks for your Android device tomorrow! It allows you to get work done outside the office (Quickoffice Pro update), walk in the shoes of a lost toy (Toy Village), and live life in color (Angry Piggy).

The Android fresh apps list is taking a long weekend. Meet you back here on Monday. Happy Thanksgiving!

Quickoffice Pro (Office & PDF) update ($9.99)

Feeling like taking your work on the road? This Quickoffice update will help. Enhancements include support for MS Office 2010 file formats; the ability to retrieve from and save to storage services like Evernote, Catch, and Egnyte; file sharing over Twitter, LinkedIn, SlideShare and other services; a new user interface for easier navigation; improved PowerPoint slide rendering; and more.

The price tag is hefty but the features are powerful.

Toy Village (Free)

It’s Thanksgiving tomorrow but Christmas and Hanukkah are just around the corner. Think toys! Here, Smalltown has been hit by a devastating storm and the sympathetic puppy Patch aims to build a new place for all the lost toys to live.

Create a new Toy Village complete with homes, restaurants, spas, shops, even play food crops. The more you build the more “oodles of boodles” credit you earn to unlock new toys. If only holiday shopping were really this easy.

Angry Piggy (Adventure) (Free)

A beast whipped up a tremendous windstorm that blew all the color away from the beautiful land of Avelon. Three farm animals – Steezy the pig, Haden the chick and Moochew the cow – have banded together to bring back all the hues of the rainbow.

This side scroller delivers physics puzzle action that requires the cooperation of the animals to get past the obstacles. Expect great cartoon graphics, imaginative puzzles, and kid-friendly humor. Choose between on-screen controls or gravity for driving the action. It’s already been a hit on iOS and now it has arrived on Android.
