Fresh Android Apps for Oct. 26: My Sync Center Free!, PuppitApp, Wind-up Knight

by Ian Black

Android always delivers fun alternatives to common apps, like today’s PuppitApp where you can turn your friends into gibbering puppets. Transfer files and backup your device with My Sync Center, then, for fun, guide a courageous wind-up toy on his noble quest in Wind-up Knight.

My Sync Center Free! (Free)

Cloud, schmoud! Maybe I don’t want to sync files to a mysterious cloud storage area. With this app, you can sync files between your Android and a home computer automagically over Wi-Fi.

Easily configure which items to sync down to the device (you can drag and drop files – even iTunes music – from a dialog box on your computer) and what folders or files to backup from the device, and you’re done.

The app syncs in the background whenever the device enters your Wi-Fi environment.

Who’s your dummy? You know you laugh when animals talk on commercials or in movies. Now you can give your friends and family the same treatment.

Launch this app and bring up the edit mode where you can add an animated mouth to the pictures in your contacts list. Choose between several styles of lips and then add a nice hat to balance things out.

The fun really begins when your contact calls. Then the large animated image fills the screen and the mouth starts moving. Put them on speakerphone for maximum impact.

Wind-up Knight (Free)

You might think wind-up toys have it easy, but this little knight’s fortune just took a wrong turn. Jump, roll, and climb your way through dangerous side-scrolling landscapes filled with giants, dragons, spikes, trap doors, and fire. You’ll travel amid forests, harbors, and a foreboding castle.

Cute graphics, constant action, 50 levels of fun, and a jaunty soundtrack will keep you playing long after the other toys have wound down.
