So yeah I'm Canadian. Yes I speak a bit of French. Do I know it fluently? Not really. Are there times when I need an app like this? You bet.

This app has evolved with leaps and bounds since it's inception on Android where it began by typing in text to translate. Today, you pick the language you want to translate to, hit the mic button, say what you want, and there's the translation. It's almost too easy.

If you're a traveler, brushing up on your skills, or looking to learn a new language, this app has incredible power. Instead of teaching the program all of the rules and intricacies of languages, it compares millions of documents that have already been translated and votes based on the best translation. Genius.

Google has been pushing voice control for quite some time now. While they are getting much better at it, fluctuations, tones in people's voices and speech impediments may cause the software to not fully recognize what you said. While Google does take strides to consider these things when developing, language is a BIG undergoing that could take years to perfect.
