An elegant weapon, from a m... by Saperle

Look, I own a Droid. I named it R2-D2 *before* Motorola came out with the R2-D2 Droid 2 (which I pine for). It's no surprise that this is the first app I downloaded and I have never looked back. I'm not saying that whipping out this app at a party or restaurant won't get you some strange looks or, um, social ostracism, but if you're the sort of person that has waited your whole life for them to invent real lightsabers, you probably won't care and will find this app completely worth it. There are other lightsaber apps out there, but this one is my favourite for a number of reasons: first, you can pick the color of your lightsaber (Mace Windu's purple one is the best); second, you can play some theme music (Duel of the Fates sets the stage for any epic duel you have planned); and third, you can 'zoom' in so that the blade becomes a cross section of the size an actual light saber would be, and flashes when you 'hit' something (or shake it hard enough), as would a real lightsaber. You can also adjust the sensitivity of the motion detector, so you can ensure that your duels with Sith (iPhone users) feel sufficiently realistic. I fully expect one day I will throw my phone across the room using this, but until that day, may the force be with you.
