facebook s a great one to meet new friends
It’s rare these days that someone with an Android phone isn’t on Facebook. This app keeps you connected to your Facebook account and allows you to check your news feed, check in to places, upload photos and update your status.
A few updates ago this app was “okay” but recently it’s stared failing miserably. On my HTC EVO I am experiencing constant refreshing on my news feed and commenting on posts or posting my own status update has become horribly frustrating. I’ve also encountered copious amounts of Force Closes.
Great idea but whatever they did recently made this app unusable.
I check facebook regularly, but I've lost count of the amount of times this app has frozen on me. It's not a huge deal, but it's annoying.
This App works great for me since I don't like being online but at the same time if someone is writing on my wall or sending me a message I like to be alerted so I can jump online and reply. It has worked flawlessly for me so far so I barely ever use my computer to access my account.
Ok, this is the facebook app, I use. It is well created, and has the basic functions needed for Facebook mobile. It allows you to update your status, comment on friends status, see news feed, view photos, the works. The only downside, is sometimes when you click on a friends status it takes you to the browser, other than that great app!
Well, this is a good example of running straight into a brick wall.
For one thing the interface is somewhat not user friendly. You start the app and it takes you to your wall (which is nice), but you don't know anything about the underlying menu behind it.
It has almost everything the website has, pictures, chat, locations, etc. But that makes it a bit heavy for phone use in my opinion.
At least it's consistent with the website in every possible way (even the negative bits).
The best mobile app for Facebook that I've used. You can check into place, reply to messages, see what your friends are doing and even comment in your groups. It's the best FB app for social butterflies.
Is this really the best that can be created for the amazing android platform? I mean seriously? I have reviewed FB apps on just about every phone VZW carries and they are all almost better. As a company driven by what the customers want, naturally facebook was important, but yet the android version still lacks a good alert system for notifications. good user controls etc.. I am just not pleased when compared to numerous other GREAT apps out there, if facebook truly runs the world shouldn't it have the best app?

Big time. C'mon Google/Facebook, what's going on guys? Get it together already. I encourage the sharing of free systems.. but well, I guess I wouldn't want a monopoly situation either.
I guess I like the opening title page where I can scroll and see photos on the bottom, but overall; I think it still might be easier to just go through the web browser.
Same old Facebook nothing new here, And one BIG Drawback, it limits the about of text you can type to post, still much better than FB mobile ...
...nerving that it knows where I am, when I am, how fast I am, and that I'm fully connected all the time. But still it's a great app, very fast, and very responsive. When I need it, it's there!
A good application that allows you to stay in touch with your personal facebook account on the go. I'm a facebook addict so this is very useful for me when I'm away from my computer, and it allows me to keep in touch with friends and things more easily.
Though I find it a bit redundant when using something like Tweetdeck, the official Facebook Android app is improving slowly from its original, kind of crap incarnation and still has some unique functionality to it. It still limited compared to accessing Facebook from your computer or a browser, but it's getting there, and I enjoy the widget with the most recent updates from my friends.

It's a decent app for staying connected 2 Facebook on the go & on ur mobile device, How-ever certain post,links, & vids sometimes transports U 2 a web page link & this includes nonfictions. Which is annoying & time consuming. It's an okay app that came pre installed on my EVO but still prefer going to the web site 4 the full FB experience. PRAZEevo

The subject line says it all. Not very user friendly though and somewhat different layouts from what we're all used to on FB on the PC but that's understandable...you can't have everything.
Although some of the nuanced features from the web are missing, this is the best implementation of Facebook on the Droid. It covers your friends, the newsstream, pictures, notifications and the core functionality in a small-screen friendly format. Great job!
While I was hoping this would be the answer to facebook on android I was waiting for it turned out to be a dissappointment. It's missing features. No chat at all, some bugs. I'm not even seeing posts from my close and personal friends. If I got to the actual facebook.com I see them all there on my news feed. It's almost as if this is a proof of concept and nothing more. This thing needs like 20 more updates before it even comes close to being what it should be.
Every version has been an improvement so far, but this app is nowhere near fully functional. Needs improved support for posting pictures and clicking through notifications, as well as chat - which is missing entirely.
Nice try to natively show Facebook on your Android device. But I am still missing some key features for which the app opens the browser and the mobile-version of Facebook.
Still requires some updates to really be a good app!
It makes using FB on your Droid A LOT easier!
A lot of us have used Facebook. There are so many features added to Facebook all the time that to update all phone versions takes the Facebook team quite a bit of time. But Facebook has never been this bad and this full of bugs. I truly believe that this should have been left in Beta until the bugs were ironed out. We're not talking about minor bugs, we're talking about what the core of Facebook is.
Whether it's notifications not showing on time or at all, comments and posts of others that do not show up, when commenting on something it takes you out of the app on occasion, the posts that you read do not have the correct date/time sort order in the listing, screen refreshing doesn't really refresh, it can lag and be slow at peak times, force closes when you're in the middle of something, and the list seems to go on and on.
It is so bad that I uninstalled it and use the Touch Facebook in my mobile browser. Even then I'm still not completely happy with the lack of features available to me. What's worse is that there has been not much said from Facebook regarding this. Just visit the Market and read the other users comments. You will see that this is just a waste of time at the moment.
this app combined with motoblur on my phone, priceless...i dont use the mobile site at all...and the full FB site on occassion. makes sharing links pics etc very simple and fast.
