ShoutMob is another Android specific social networking app. Like the other apps that have tried this, there unfortunately aren’t enough Android phones out at this time, nor enough people willing to use a new social networking app.
The entire app is focused around a map. You’ll be zoomed in to where you’re located at first. This app is based around social networking on a local level, so you’ll have to zoom out if you want to see who else is using this app. During our review we unfortunately didn’t find any other users to interact with.
Pressing the menu button will bring up a few options for you to interact with. There’s the shout button which allows you to search for another user by name, the add button which unfortunately has been greyed out throughout our time with the app, auto which will focus back on you, and about. If you’d like to start typing to the general area, press the menu button again and you’ll have a chat panel to take advantage of.
The Android market is unfortunately not that large at this time. Making Android specific apps that allow you to talk to other Android users with this app is mildly foolish. This app doesn’t seem that well put together even if there were people to talk with. Avoid this app and wait for something with a little bit more staying power.
