Google Maps is one of my all time favorite apps on Android. The default application works like a charm and has saved me countless hours of digging through traditional maps trying to find my way. One large complaint that I have always had with the application though was the major hassle it was to get your custom maps into it. Even if you did do it, there wasn't anything that made it easy and simple and you still couldn't edit them.
My Maps Editor is an app from Google with a sole purpose of making your maps accessible and able to be edited. The app gives you the ability to load your previous created maps and begin customizing them, as well as create new ones with all the options available that the online version has. The app is pretty straight forward. You can opt to create a new map, add photos, an address, marker, line, or shape. Once created, all the changes will be reflected online as well.
A couple downsides I found with the app is that you essentially have to keep two apps instead of one now if you want your custom maps. The other complaint I had was the app had a few issues trying to load some of my private maps and would crash everytime. Other than that, this app is free and if you use My Maps from Google, there really is no reason not to grab it. Check it out.
