LifeAware is an interesting location based social networking app for the Android platform. This app offers up a lot of features for those of you who use it, but it will only be useful if your friends and family also have Android phones and use it as well.
The app is fairly easy to navigate. On the main screen you’ll see options to send your location to the network, tag the location you’re currently at, and manage your friends. Sending your location is a way of force updating the app so that if your friends are following you on this app they can see where you are. Tagging a location allows you to use it for personal reference later. You can display a tagged location on a map, send it to a friend, or even get directions to and from it.
The manage friends area of the app is where you’ll add new people to your LifeAware app. If you press the menu button, you can access the invite area. This is where you can search for a friend or family member by many different search criteria. If they use LifeAware, they’ll show up and you can send over an invitation to add them to your friends tab.
This app is interesting, but the lack of people actually using it makes it difficult to justify downloading. If it incorporated other social networks or worked on other devices as well, it could be an interesting app to have. As it stands right now, you should probably pass on it.
