JogTracker is an app for the Android platform that allows you to keep tabs on your run. This app does require that you turn on the GPS aspect of your Android phone so that it can actually map out your run.
Before you head out for your first run, you should definitely set up an account first. The app allows you to register for an account directly from the menu bar, so it won’t be difficult. You can monitor your progress and more from the website, so it’s worth taking the time to register.
After you’re done with that, its time to tap the start button and throw your Android phone in your pocket. Hopefully the area that you’re going for a run in has a good clean GPS signal or your run may not get mapped properly. If it does, you’ll have a nice little trail of what you’ve done so far.
This is a handy app, but the G1 doesn’t exactly seem like the best thing to run with. There isn’t an armband out at this time for it, so you won’t be able to easily attach it you yourself. It would be awkward running with it in your pocket or hand as well, so it’s really up to you if you want to go for a run with your phone in your hand.
