The Huffington Post is a news website which provides aggregated news to all users who are interested. The site serves as a liberal alternative to the conservative Drudge Report. A couple apps have already been released for the Android platform but now the site's creators have released the official app for Android phones. The app is extremely simple and to-the-point. There are no frills, no extra features, and no complications.
Once the app is opened, it offers an immediate look into the top stories of the moment. There are no advertisements, no tabs, just the top stories. Articles are organized by a user-defined preference and then color coded by the category they fit in. Users can jump to a specific category by using the menu button. The app also allows users to connect via their Facebook account to post articles directly to their profiles.
Overall, there really is not much more to say about the app. It is extremely quick to load and offers the content you want right away. It was nice to have the content right up front without the need to wade through menus although some might be disappointed in the lack of customization. The app is free in the Android Market, so check it out.
