Gist is an interesting service looking to basically serve as a social tracker for users. In laymen's terms it can basically be considered a corporate stalker tool but without all the freaky implications. Once adding contacts whether they be names or companies, the app will automatically cull all the available information regarding that specific entity.
The app interfaces with pretty much every social network including Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook, and even all the way down to the traditional Google search. Once all your contacts have been added, which can be done straight from the phone, you can set priority so the app will automatically sort the most important news and updates. The app can sync with your calendar and email to provide a one stop shop for all things regarding your clients or contacts. Though the service is actually a very smart idea, the app struggles to deliver the same experience given by its online counterpart.
The app can't really customize the experience or add too much new content. It basically serves as a portal to the online service. Perhaps in the future more features will be added but for now the app just feels a little too simple. Still, the service is extremely handy for business users and personal users alike. The app is free in the Marketplace so check it out.
