Caller ID is an app for the Android platform that expands on the basic function that the Android phones caller ID has to offer. This app utilizes the WhitePages database to provide as much information as possible about your calls as they're happening. To use this app, all you need to do is start it up and let it do the rest.
Caller ID runs in the background and offers the information it retrieves in two places. First, as you're receiving a call, under the normal box offered up by the Android platform, you'll see another box that provides you with additional information, such as the location of the call and whether it was a landline or a cell phone.
If you miss the call, you'll receive the standard Android notification along with a notification from the Caller ID app. This will provide you with all of the same information that you would have received in the box below the call. Just like the normal call log, this app has its own that contains all of the calls received while the app is active.
If you don't want this app to be on all the time, you can easily turn it off by entering the app and pressing one button. If you'd like to clear your calls list, you can do the same. This app is definitely handy and the fact that it pulls up Caller ID information from landlines makes it pretty useful.
